"Evangelicalism doesn't need a bailout. Much of it needs a funeral. But what about what remains?"
"Two of the beneficiaries will be the Roman Catholic and Orthodox communions. Evangelicals have been entering these churches in recent decades and that trend will continue, with more efforts aimed at the "conversion" of Evangelicals to the Catholic and Orthodox traditions."

"I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I have detected a new crisis that I have named "the daylight change crisis". I first noticed it sometime around the end of June this year. I started paying attention and created computer models and sure enough I was right! We are losing daylight at an astonishing rate. Each day we are losing approximately 2 minutes of day light and my computer models predict total darkness by next July. I have been able to detect this phenomenon around the entire Northern Hemisphere. And here is the scary part: the day light appears to be leaking to the Southern Hemisphere.
I thought I should bring it to the attention of great scientists like Al Gore so he can help solve this new crisis."

PARIS - There is both growing public reluctance to make personal sacrifices and a distinct lack of enthusiasm for the major international efforts now underway to battle climate change, according to findings of a poll of 12,000 citizens in 11 countries, including Canada.
Results of the poll were released this week in advance of the start of a major international conference in Poland where delegates are considering steps toward a new international climate-change treaty to replace the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012.
There already are reports emerging that some countries, such as coal-dependent Poland, are pushing for special treatment to avoid making major commitments to slash carbon emissions during a global economic downturn. Less than half of those surveyed, or 47 per cent, said they were prepared to make personal lifestyle changes to reduce carbon emissions, down from 58 per cent last year.
Only 37 per cent said they were willing to spend "extra time" on the effort, an eight-point drop. And only one in five respondents - or 20 per cent - said they'd spend extra money to reduce climate change. That's down from 28 per cent a year ago.

"As he sees it, the West suffers from an excess of toleration for those who do not share its tradition of tolerance. "We believe that -- 'we' means the political elite -- that all cultures are equal," he says. "I believe this is the biggest disease today facing Europe. . . . We should wake up and tell ourselves: You're not a xenophobe, you're not a racist, you're not a crazy guy if you say, 'My culture is better than yours.' A culture based on Christianity, Judaism, humanism is better. Look at how we treat women, look at how we treat apostates, look at how we go with the separation of church and state. I can give you 500 examples why our culture is better." "

More folks like this need to take what Wilson has described and run with it. Something to the effect of what Rush Limbaugh has been saying; only God Himself can truly make an impact to change the climate or this planet. Man really cannot. I believe the foolishness of any environmentaljihadist who seriously thinks otherwise is not just laughable, but is disrespectful to God and all Christians." The Environment Minister Sammy Wilson has angered green campaigners by describing their view on climate change as a "hysterical psuedo-religion". In an article in the News Letter, Mr Wilson said he believed it occurred naturally and was not man-made.
"Resources should be used to adapt to the consequences of climate change, rather than King Canute-style vainly trying to stop it," said the minister. "

But she's only 15, so who could blame her? At age 15 I didn't even know the names of our atmospheric layers yet, and know Miley doesn't today either, so I certainly wouldn't have a real good farking idea what was going on. I would have shut up and spoke to my friends instead about the cute flute player I was going to try and sit next to at the marching band party at the theater that night to see Twister, and I did. Really, who can I actually blame for not questioning Miley and setting her straight while in the studio?

"Democrats say the point is to build habits that will endure long after the convention. To that end, the city has staged "greening workshops" attended by hundreds of caterers, restaurant owners and hotel managers. "It's the new patriotism," Mayor Hickenlooper says."Denver is a great city, but I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

"On first look, the uniform worn by Pope Benedict XVI’s bodyguards — the colorful yellow and blue stripey uniforms, the red ostrich feather-plumed helmets, the tights and bloomers — might lead you to think your grandmother could take them on.
You would be gravely mistaken.
Armed only with Renaissance weaponry, this minuscule army successfully kept Nazi soldiers out of Vatican City during World War II as Germany occupied Rome.
While they still wear armor and carry antique weapons, it’s not all medieval warfare for the Swiss Guards. They must maintain a high degree of physical fitness and master modern weaponry, such as the H&K submachine gun and the SIG Sauer 9 mm pistol. To best protect the Pope, they also train at close-quarters fighting and tactical movement, as well as security and counter-terrorism techniques."

"A sermon last Friday by a prominent Muslim cleric and Hamas member of the Palestinian parliament openly declared that "the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital," would soon be conquered by Islam.
The fiery sermon, delivered by Yunis al-Astal and aired on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV, predicted that Rome would become "an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe."
"Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion," al-Astal preached, "so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security and consolidation of power, and even to conquests through da'wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world."
"Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our prophet Muhammad," he added."

"A report posted on Islam Watch, a site run by Muslims who oppose intolerant teachings and hatred for unbelievers, exposes a prominent Islamic cleric and lawyer who support extreme punishment for non-Muslims — including killing and rape.
A question-and-answer session with Imam Abdul Makin in an East London mosque asks why Allah would tell Muslims to kill and rape innocent non-Muslims, including their wives and daughters, according to Islam Watch. 'Because non-Muslims are never innocent, they are guilty of denying Allah and his prophet,' the Imam says, according to the report. 'If you don't believe me, here is the legal authority, the top Muslim lawyer of Britain.'
The lawyer, Anjem Choudary, backs up the Imam's position, saying that all Muslims are innocent. Click here to watch the interview with Islamic lawyer Anjem Choudary.
'You are innocent if you are a Muslim,' Choudary tells the BBC. 'Then you are innocent in the eyes of God. If you are not a Muslim, then you are guilty of not believing in God.'Choudary said he would not condemn a Muslim for any action. 'As a Muslim, I must support my Muslim brothers and sisters,' Choudary said. 'I must have hatred to everything that is not Muslim.' "

"What we are seeing is a wave of arrogance sweeping into America with the wave of Muslim immigrants and students. One searches in vain for an individual or organized Muslim voice showing real respect or even a minimal liking for America or American customs.
What to make of all of this? The major problem, it must be said, is not the foreigners but America and Europe themselves. Both have essentially lost their grit in terms of protecting and defending their own principles and polities. This fight with Islam is only beginning – and it is in many ways far more important, ultimately, than the war in the Middle East. Until America and Europe regain their voices and their self-respect, this problem... will only continue to grow."

aux.link: Muslims more numerous than Catholics: Vatican Reuters
Although if you consider non-Catholic Christians, Muslims are outnumbered by 33% to 19%. So I suppose we still need the archaeic and hard-headed Vatican-protesting 'faithful' to count amongst our ranks. I just wish evangelicals would give up and come back to the only Church that Jesus Christ Himself founded. It's not like the Vatican is still corrupt, lost in its way of leadership, and cleansing the land of protestants as it once did for a brief period of time hundreds of years ago in the dark ages. Even Martin Luther would probably think his movement is getting old by now.
The question evangelicals have to answer in this day and age is, "who founded your church?" Is that guy's legacy worth following more than Christ's? C'mon. This isn't the 1500s any more. This article should make a final call to stand together and convert back to the one true Christian faith already.

"Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of the British media that could directly lead to the harm of some of our staff, Liveleak.com has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers. This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else. We would like to thank the thousands of people, from all backgrounds and religions, who gave us their support. They realised LiveLeak.com is a vehicle for many opinions and not just for the support of one. Perhaps there is still hope that this situation may produce a discussion that could benefit and educate all of us as to how we can accept one anothers culture. We stood for what we believe in, the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too high."Proves the point- I hope this catches on like wildfire this weekend.

More more more more more more more."If Marohasy is anywhere near right about the impending collapse of the global warming paradigm, life will suddenly become a whole lot more interesting. A great many founts of authority, from the Royal Society to the UN, most heads of government along with countless captains of industry, learned professors, commentators and journalists will be profoundly embarrassed. Let us hope it is a prolonged and chastening experience.
With catastrophe off the agenda, for most people the fog of millennial gloom will lift, at least until attention turns to the prospect of the next ice age. Among the better educated, the sceptical cast of mind that is the basis of empiricism will once again be back in fashion. The delusion that by recycling and catching public transport we can help save the planet will quickly come to be seen for the childish nonsense it was all along.
The poorest Indians and Chinese will be left in peace to work their way towards prosperity, without being badgered about the size of their carbon footprint, a concept that for most of us will soon be one with Nineveh and Tyre, clean forgotten in six months."

"Mr. Wilders, 44, is in the news here these days for a 10-to-15-minute film he says he has made depicting the Koran as the inspiration for terrorist attacks and other violence. Having failed to persuade a single Dutch television network to broadcast the film in its entirety, he said he planned to release it on the Internet by the end of this month."Showwww iiiiiit!!! Hype during the last year of this thing is about to drive me over the edge! If it's credible and any good, I really hope Wilders releases this soon in an easily-distributed form so it can spread as far and wide as quickly as possible. I will watch this in the YHPS control room with a Heineken mini-keg to celebrate when it debuts.
UPDATE2: Network Solutions also hosts the English version site for Hezbollah. Boycott indeed. Found that off Digg, which had a great post from someone else regarding Fitna: "And you retards thought Scientology was a problem." Yep- this is why this film needs to come out March 31."The site formerly showed the film's title, "Fitna" ("Coming Soon"), and an image of a gilded Koran. Now it shows a note that the U.S. company, Network Solutions, is investigating whether the site violates its terms of service.
"Network Solutions has received a number of complaints regarding this site that are under investigation," the note said. The company could not immediately be reached for comment. Its terms of service contain a sweeping prohibition against objectionable material of any kind or nature."

"...the danger remains for Obama in managing the cult-like fervour. Obviously, he's no messiah and lofty expectations of his supporters is something that Obama is also acutely aware of. In stockmarket parlance, Obama's share price is soaring on expected future earnings. Clinton, 20 years in the public eye, is like the industrial conglomerate: steady share price and reliable dividends. Think of Obama as Google and Clinton as General Electric."

Scientology is newest NASCAR sponsor
"Racin' fans, brace yourselves for some couch-jumping news:
Scientology is ridin' shotgun. A No. 27 red Taurus emblazoned with "DIANETICS" and featuring the volcano from the cover of L. Ron Hubbard's book has been tearing around California's Irwindale Speedway."
"it's also the weirdest sponsorship since Boudreaux's Butt Paste, the diaper-rash cream that began sponsoring a Busch Series car in 2005."
"Driver Kenton Gray, of La Verne, Calif., will drive the DIANETCS car Saturday in its official debut in a NASCAR Weekly Series race in Irwindale. Gray spouts Scientology praise with enthusiasm that would make the celebrity couple known as TomKat proud..."
"The Jehovah's Witnesses could not be reached for comment about any possible NASCAR sponsorship."
