Ethanol Worst Form of Renewable Energy

aux.link.: Stanford University Study Shows Ethanol to be Worst Form of Renewable Energy

"Mark Jacobson, professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and director of the Atmosphere/Energy Program at Stanford University, recently conducted a study that ranked alternate energies from best to worst. Ethanol was put to the test against, "Solar-photovoltaic (PV), concentrated solar power (CSP), wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, wave, tidal, nuclear, and coal with carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology." After looking at reports of air pollutants from energy types on climate and air quality, and comparing how well each energy type was able to power vehicles, the study showed that Ethanol came in dead last.

It seems that the report found that wind-powered battery electric vehicles as well as wind-powered hydrogen fuel cells were the greenest ways to go. The immediate problem now, is the fact that driving a wind-powered battery electric vehicle is horrendously expensive, let alone impractical. And for its part, Ethanol has already received huge support from the automotive industry and the U.S. government. Finding an appropriately sized role for ethanol, with adequate support for the greener of the new green-tech is easier said than done."

Something Else For Al Gore To Worry About

aux.link.: American Thinker Blog: Something else for Al Gore to worry about

"I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I have detected a new crisis that I have named "the daylight change crisis". I first noticed it sometime around the end of June this year. I started paying attention and created computer models and sure enough I was right! We are losing daylight at an astonishing rate. Each day we are losing approximately 2 minutes of day light and my computer models predict total darkness by next July. I have been able to detect this phenomenon around the entire Northern Hemisphere. And here is the scary part: the day light appears to be leaking to the Southern Hemisphere.

I thought I should bring it to the attention of great scientists like Al Gore so he can help solve this new crisis."

Ok, so maybe CNN still has someone with credibility after Glenn Beck left. The underlying fact and premise of the 'nonbelievers' is starting to gain some market share, and in relation, I think Rush Limbaugh pinned that down nicely on his show Friday:

Global Climate Change Propaganda Failing

aux.link.: Efforts to support global climate-change falls: Poll

PARIS - There is both growing public reluctance to make personal sacrifices and a distinct lack of enthusiasm for the major international efforts now underway to battle climate change, according to findings of a poll of 12,000 citizens in 11 countries, including Canada.

Results of the poll were released this week in advance of the start of a major international conference in Poland where delegates are considering steps toward a new international climate-change treaty to replace the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012.

There already are reports emerging that some countries, such as coal-dependent Poland, are pushing for special treatment to avoid making major commitments to slash carbon emissions during a global economic downturn. Less than half of those surveyed, or 47 per cent, said they were prepared to make personal lifestyle changes to reduce carbon emissions, down from 58 per cent last year.

Only 37 per cent said they were willing to spend "extra time" on the effort, an eight-point drop. And only one in five respondents - or 20 per cent - said they'd spend extra money to reduce climate change. That's down from 28 per cent a year ago.

UK Environment Minister Slams Alarmists

aux.link.: BBC NEWS UK Northern Ireland Wilson row over green 'alarmists'

" The Environment Minister Sammy Wilson has angered green campaigners by describing their view on climate change as a "hysterical psuedo-religion". In an article in the News Letter, Mr Wilson said he believed it occurred naturally and was not man-made.

"Resources should be used to adapt to the consequences of climate change, rather than King Canute-style vainly trying to stop it," said the minister. "

More folks like this need to take what Wilson has described and run with it. Something to the effect of what Rush Limbaugh has been saying; only God Himself can truly make an impact to change the climate or this planet. Man really cannot. I believe the foolishness of any environmentaljihadist who seriously thinks otherwise is not just laughable, but is disrespectful to God and all Christians.

Anyone who fully subscribes to the man-made global warming crap is an incompetently-misled sot who needs to be isolated from any credible recognition on a global level. Period.

Miley Cyrus Brainwashed By Global Warming

aux.link.: Disney's New Hannah Montana Album Features 'Global Warming Anthem'

But that's not all... she admits it and still encourages her fans to jump on the bandwagon anyway, because it seems to her that Mother Earth is crying out for help. Thank you, careless/leftist MSM influences on impressionable children (re: financial sugardaddy ABC Networks, re: financial sugardaddydaddy Disney). There is obviously weak discussion in her mind on this, because last I saw, she still had sound judgement and just purchased an awesome new Cayenne GTS (natch, EPA 11/17mpg), not a Prius...

But she's only 15, so who could blame her? At age 15 I didn't even know the names of our atmospheric layers yet, and know Miley doesn't today either, so I certainly wouldn't have a real good farking idea what was going on. I would have shut up and spoke to my friends instead about the cute flute player I was going to try and sit next to at the marching band party at the theater that night to see Twister, and I did. Really, who can I actually blame for not questioning Miley and setting her straight while in the studio?

Answer? Billy Ray Cyrus. You country-hipster masquerading, clueless hippy pacifist!... Possibly.

C'mon, Hanna- you're off to a good start catering to the tweener demo. Avoid this slipperly slope.

While Audi continues to produce more powerful and more desirable versions of the R8, Mercedes prepares entirely new supercars and Porsche continues to do what Porsche has always done, the company that once hailed itself as the producers of the "Ultimate Driving Machine" is more concerned with hybrids than sportscars." -Autoblog

AP + CBS: Global Warming To Blame For Quakes

aux.link: Today's Quakes Deadlier Than In Past, Study: Seismic Activity 5 Times More Energetic Than 20 Years Ago Because Of Global Warming - CBS News

What do they call something that catches your eye in the psychological field? The 'JND', or Just Noticeable Difference? In the margins of Fact vs. Bullshit, in this case. The 'event horizon', the 'point of no return', 'the last straw'. Regardless of how most everyone will see the epic 'discovery' that CBS News actually has the audacity to stand behind, one thing will now be clear to the average and ordinary educated citizen of the world; that environmentaljihadists are now grasping at straws and desperate to blame anything on man-made climate change, even if it has nothing to do with the atmosphere at all.

As if the cyclones, floods, and tornadoes this year weren't enough for them to lay blame on already, Dr. Tom Chalko (who holds a PhD in a totally-related field of 'Laser Holography', dabbles in holistic self-healing methods, and also thinks Earth can explode from climate change; Google him) decides to compare two similar-ish streaks from two sets of data that have nothing to do with eachother across an X and Y axis as factually-related. The Associated Press took notice. Why. Why, God, why?

I can vaguely understand daft hippies rallying behind a shaky theory with an anti-economic agenda. But this... I... I really can't believe it. This is going to do their whole movement in. Surely. The school of incompetent thought that is somehow being allowed to permeate into any level of media (which is equally guilty of aiding and abetting ignorance) and be taken seriously enough by them to broadcast to the masses must be stopped. The facts against these blatant lies against humanity need to 'out' themselves in these same media faster than gay couples to the Berkeley courthouse this week. Beyond the pale. Just apalling.

Facts Against Man-Made Warming Surface More

aux.link: Climate facts to warm to The Australian

An ABC Radio debate host in this article thinks these facts coming to light more, about temperatures cooling in the last decade (going plateau and negative since 1998) despite rising natural and man-made CO2 emissions, is "extraordinary". Indeed...

"If Marohasy is anywhere near right about the impending collapse of the global warming paradigm, life will suddenly become a whole lot more interesting. A great many founts of authority, from the Royal Society to the UN, most heads of government along with countless captains of industry, learned professors, commentators and journalists will be profoundly embarrassed. Let us hope it is a prolonged and chastening experience.

With catastrophe off the agenda, for most people the fog of millennial gloom will lift, at least until attention turns to the prospect of the next ice age. Among the better educated, the sceptical cast of mind that is the basis of empiricism will once again be back in fashion. The delusion that by recycling and catching public transport we can help save the planet will quickly come to be seen for the childish nonsense it was all along.

The poorest Indians and Chinese will be left in peace to work their way towards prosperity, without being badgered about the size of their carbon footprint, a concept that for most of us will soon be one with Nineveh and Tyre, clean forgotten in six months."

More more more more more more more.

A D.C. Prius Stunt And My Thoughts On Hybrids

Not only was this little episode annoying, it was also offensive in more ways than one.
WASHINGTON — When Congress sent an energy bill to President Bush for his signature, it arrived in a Japanese-built Toyota Prius hybrid — a move that rubbed two Michigan Republicans the wrong way. "It is a huge slap in the face, calculated I believe, just to demonstrate their complete disregard for the domestic auto industry," said Rep. Candice Miller, R-Mich.

To Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., it was a "slap in the face of every American auto worker."

They said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., could have provided the same symbolism by sending the bill Wednesday in a U.S.-built hybrid made by Ford Motor Co. or General Motors Corp.

Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Pelosi, said the Republicans were "merely attempting to distract from the success of the Democratic energy security legislation" and noted that 95 House Republicans supported the bill. He said the bill would encourage the development of hybrids and alternative vehicles. Hammill said the Prius was owned by an employee with the Office of the Clerk, which sends bills to the White House.

The bill requires that automakers increase fuel efficiency by 40 percent to an industry average of 35 miles per gallon by 2020.

The Prius, the most popular gas-electric hybrid in the United States, gets a combined 46 mpg in city and highway driving. The Prius and the 2008 Honda Civic hybrid, which gets a combined 42 mpg, are the only two hybrids sold in the United States today that would meet the new mileage requirements set for 2020.
But, freedom-sucking policy delivery via a Ford Escape Hybrid or otherwise, the point is that hybrid vehicles from any manufacturer are still the most overhyped and worthless products marketed towards leftists since the Pet Rock. Especially in this case, the bill delivery using such a set of wheels only showcases the incompetence of anybody involved in the event's shipment and receiving. And also of its far more ridiculous cargo that will mandate ridiculous fuel efficiency standards- a showcase of incompetent and wasteful legislation in of itself. Folks... crap like this is why Congressional approval ratings are at record lows.

Furthermore, since I can't stand hybrids and enjoy watching
this video over and over (ok, I'll be a little more serious- this one), let me also note that environmentaljihadists only drive hybrids for the smug factor and because they have to have a car. They would be astounded to know how much more capable, environmental friendly and stronger clean-burning diesel vehicles are overall in comparison. Or that from dust-to-dust, a Jeep Wrangler is more environmentally friendly and creates less of a 'carbon footprint', if there's any reason to tally such a thing.

And while we're on the subject, my non-diesel 2003 Volkswagen Passat gets 34mpg on the highway, and it's a regular gasoline engine with a zippy turbocharger, good for 210hp/240 ft. lbs. of power (after I modified the engine management software for greater efficiency, still 31mpg stock). A pricier and cheaper-feeling 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid gets only 2mpg better at a cost of several thousand more. Two words, hybrid-loving manufacturers: nice try. But, not really. Scrap your plans and go diesel already. Volkswagen has the best diesel's in the industry, but its recent 'green' campaign has this German-loving motorist eyeing an Audi for his next chariot. Naturally a big one with a V8 or better... while I still can.

Senate Report Debunks Warming "Consensus"

The deniers are gaining momentum in areas that count, slowly but surely. Next year should see the minority belief turn into the majority.

"Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called "consensus" on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. The new report issued by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee’s office of the GOP Ranking Member details the views of the scientists, the overwhelming majority of whom spoke out in 2007.

Even some in the establishment media now appear to be taking notice of the growing number of skeptical scientists. In October, the Washington Post Staff Writer Juliet Eilperin conceded the obvious, writing that climate skeptics "appear to be expanding rather than shrinking." Many scientists from around the world have dubbed 2007 as the year man-made global warming fears “bite the dust.” In addition, many scientists who are also progressive environmentalists believe climate fear promotion has "co-opted" the green movement."

Hurricane Guru Calls Gore's Nobel 'Ridiculous'

The Nobel institute really lost all of its credibility after their stunt agenda with algore earlier this year. Here is what the Papa Bear of climate study had to say about it:

One of the world's foremost meteorologists has called the theory that helped Al Gore share the Nobel Peace Prize "ridiculous" and the product of "people who don't understand how the atmosphere works".

Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts, told a packed lecture hall at the University of North Carolina that humans were not responsible for the warming of the earth.

His comments came on the same day that the Nobel committee honoured Mr. Gore for his work in support of the link between humans and global warming.

"We're brainwashing our children," said Dr Gray, 78, a long-time professor at Colorado State University. "They're going to the Gore movie [An Inconvenient Truth] and being fed all this. It's ridiculous."

Weather Channel Founder Slams 'Warming

Chalk up another big gun for our side... credit NewsBusters:

If the founder of The Weather Channel spoke out strongly against the manmade global warming myth, might media members notice? We're going to find out the answer to that question soon, for John Coleman wrote an article published at ICECAP Wednesday that should certainly garner attention from press members -- assuming journalism hasn't been completely replaced by propagandist activism, that is. Coleman marvelously began:

It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create in [sic] allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the "research" to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus.

Environmental extremists, notable politicians among them, then teamed up with movie, media and other liberal, environmentalist journalists to create this wild "scientific" scenario of the civilization threatening environmental consequences from lobal Warming unless we adhere to their radical agenda. Now their ridiculous manipulated science has been accepted as fact and become a cornerstone issue for CNN, CBS, NBC, the Democratic Political Party, the Governor of California, school teachers and, in many cases, well informed but very gullible environmental conscientious citizens. Only one reporter at ABC has been allowed to counter the Global Warming frenzy with one 15 minutes documentary segment.
[...]

I have read dozens of scientific papers. I have talked with numerous scientists. I have studied. I have thought about it. I know I am correct. There is no run away
climate change. The impact of humans on climate is not catastrophic. Our planet is not in peril. I am incensed by the incredible media glamour, the politically correct silliness and rude dismissal of counter arguments by the high priest of Global Warming.

In time, a decade or two, the outrageous scam will be obvious.

Calculating My Carbon Footprint

By strictly pitting annual walking miles (travel) to beer consumption (fuel). Irrelevant, but amusing. Stick with me here, folks...

It's said that a recent survey revealed that the average American walks 900 miles per year. Another survey revealed that the average American consumes 20 gallons of beer per year. Considering these two results, one could conclude that the average American gets 45 miles per gallon. That’s great. However, by my calculations of beer consumption annually (est. 4320 oz./yr.), I’m only getting about 26.67mpg.

Now consider, that I sit on my ass probably twice as much as the average American, drive everywhere I go, and dream of owning a Segway for bathroom runs. That puts me at no better than 450 walking miles annually, further reducing my fuel efficiency to 13.33mpg – about the same as a V12 twin-turbo Bentley Continental GT drafting a semi-truck uphill on a 4% grade. That makes my efficiency nearly one quarter of the national average, and generating almost four times the average carbon footprint, making me that much more to blame for global warming than the next bloke.

My bad, guys.

EU Enviros Want To Ban Sports Cars

I'm a car nut. And if you've been following this site much, you may have noticed the biggest theme here is making fun of global warming and the cult's followers, whom I have coined 'environmentaljihadists' (copyright coming soon). So it's no surprise when this article from Bloomberg popped up, pitting my passion against my hatred, that I took interest.

The writeup underlines my favorite point by a former Greenpeace founder in the recent BBC documentary, "The Great Global Warming Swindle", in that it blows the cover off environmentaljihadists as not being stewards of the planet per-se, but anti-consumption advocates first.

The buzz therein is essentially about wanting to ban any car that can travel faster than 100mph starting in 2013, which the article points out even includes a lowly Honda Civic hatch. Lowly to us, but a favorite of San Francisco environmentaljihadists for it's large, slab-sided arse, perfect for covering in left-wing bumperstickers.

Q&A: Czech President On Global Warming

Interesting Q&A session by Czech President Vaclav Klaus from the Financial Times. It's interesting to see his take on the current environmentaljihadist demands sweeping the globe on Warming in answers to random folks. The view is that the movement's silencing tone is similar to that used by governments he was forced to live under in communism. While he admits a certain level of sensitivity to that more than a naitive Westerner would, he certainly has an excellent point.

Another interesting point; worried goals of 'globalization' and a single global government as an outcome are mentioned as well. Which could be just as fair an extreme to put into play here for the sake of this argument from the clear-thinking side of the table. Climate versus freedom indeed.

If you're looking for more in-depth reasoning into the common sense 'denier' mindset through this fad, President Klaus has emerged as one of the best counterpoints to the hysteria. Check it out.

Klaus: Freedom, Not Climate, Is At Risk

A great, coincise article from the Financial Times by my favorite European head of state, President Vaclav Klaus of The Czech Republic. An excerpt:
"I agree with Professor Richard Lindzen from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who said: “future generations will wonder in bemused amazement that the early 21st century’s developed world went into hysterical panic over a globally averaged temperature increase of a few tenths of a degree, and, on the basis of gross exaggerations of highly uncertain computer projections combined into implausible chains of inference, proceeded to contemplate a roll-back of the industrial age”."

NASA Chief Ducks, Reverses Thoughts

Possibly sparring a conflict of interest with federal funding given to his employer, NASA boss Michael Griffin cowardly caved against the truth in an embarassing about-face today, right into the hands of environmentaljihadists.

In a response to the critisism against him, Griffin states, “unfortunately, this is an issue which has become far more political than technical, and it would have been well for me to have stayed out of it.” No, Michael. It would have been well for you - as head of NASA - to give us 'global warming deniers' another credible backer to add to the roster. You could have been a big pitcher on the mound, but chose to throw the ball left instead of knocking the batter on his ass. You forfeited your chance at victory. Next!

The Great Global Warming Swindle

Best. Documentary. Ever... from the BBC? It's true.

“The only way to remain anti-establishment was to adopt ever more extreme positions. The other reason that environmental extremism emerged was because world communism failed, the wall came down, and a lot of peaceniks and political activists moved into the environmental movement bringing their neo-Marxism with them and learned to use ‘green’ language in a very cleaver way to cloak agendas that have actually more to do with anti-capitalism and anti-globalization than anything they do with ecology or science.” – Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace, ret.

Environmentaljihadist Calls For Genocide

No More Genuinely Ethical Holidays

Did I mention here that I convinced a beautiful, conservative woman to marry me? The date is set for this October. And in light of this article, I'm going to make it a destination wedding for our party of 120. Business Class to the Azores, including one seat just for a maltese puppy.

'Climate change is an issue that dwarfs all others and the impact of flying is key to this,' said Ellingham. 'All of us involved have a responsibility to inform travellers as clearly and honestly as possible about the environmental cost of their journeys. We must encourage travellers to travel less and neutralise their carbon footprint through offsetting. It is hard to say the positive impact travelling has can ever outweigh the damage done by simply travelling to the destination,' he said. 'Balancing all the positives and negatives, I'm not convinced there is such a thing as a "responsible" or "ethical" holiday.'
Remember that the next time you take your well-deserved vacation, you bad, bad person you!

Dems Shift Intel Budget To Warming

Sneaky tricks for false pretenses. The global warming hysteria is not only working its way into legislature as 'research', but at the cost of security spending now as well. Or at least, that's how Democrats would prefer it...

More from the Washington Times:

Democrats, who outnumber Republicans on the committee, blocked the minority from stripping the warming language from the bill.

Intelligence panel Chairman Silvestre Reyes, Texas Democrat, said the climate-change study is one of several shifts his party has made to intelligence policy. "We're concerned that global warming might impact our ability to maintain national security," he told The Times, describing the idea as "cutting edge."

Several Republicans trotted out the statistic that the government already spends $6.5 billion annually on global-warming related issues through several agencies, including NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. But Mr. Reyes said the provision "makes
sense" because of the growing international concern over climate change. "We think it's time," he said.

YHPS Celebrates Earth Day!

In many successful bids to create carbon offset offsets to counter worthless activities celebrated by environmentaljihadist hippies everywhere today, a small but determined Yuppie Horror Picture Show staff made a stand against the planet from being 'saved' (but of course knew we wouldn't impact it, as I'm sure Mother Earth was laughing right along with us... actually, make that God).

We:

- Held the brake down as we wastefully layed rubber for five minutes in a V8 GMC Denali XL, freshly fueled with ExxonMobil's finest grade Saudi juice at $3.10/gal. Then filled up again.
- Smoked Cuban cigars outside. Seven, to be exact.
- Booked three red-eye flights to Barcelona on a Boeing 777 next week, but we probably won't go.
- Farted. Twice.
- Left all the lights, air conditioning (set at 61*F) and ceiling fans on in a 3200 sq. ft. home with the windows and back door open. While we were out buying 80 lbs. of the cheapest, most generic, Chinese non-biodegradeable fertilizer at Wal-Mart (Chinese was all they had unfortunately), only to waste it all with the sprinkler system set on five cycles throughout the heat of the afternoon.
- Threw seven months of six various daily newspapers and three weeks worth of junk mail, imported overseas beer minikegs and space-hogging 3-liter soda bottles in the trash without recycling. Or cutting through probably 20 of those plastic six-pack aluminum can caddies. We even went so far as to wheel the two dumpsters out to the curb late- we had to phone the sooty trash truck driver to come all the way back up the hill again right after he got to the bottom. Sorry!
- Left the hot water on for 30 minute showers before each meal (ok, I at least shaved once as well), then left them on for another 20 minutes to steam up the bathrooms to a thick fog. Laser pointers are awesome!
- Gave the luxury of their own washing machine load to each of my sweatshop Cambodian dress shirts. Hot cycle, naturally. Thick as they are, it took six passes through the dryer on warm before they weren't damp any more (started to feel guilty and decided to shove them all into two loads).
- Personally used 18 squares of toilet paper in one sitting just to piss off Sheryl Crow. Then flushed three times.
- Disabled the Intel 'SpeedStep' technology on all PCs and one server in the house so the computers would run at full speed. With no screen savers.

Much to our surprise at the end of the day, the warm blue sky still faded into a clear night with twinkling stars as the weather cooled off. Well that didn't pan out according to plans! Maybe you have to be within the confines of the Peoples Republic of California for it to take effect, because I have yet to see what George Clooney and Larry David are promising. But if they're dead wrong - like they are - it's comforting to know we live in a place where man cannot change nature. Although factually cyclical, any belief that atmospheric changes are the work of other than nature (re: God Himself) is an admission of incompetence.

We don't need 'Earth Day', ABC primetime specials, and Algore to tell us how to live logically and modestly (re: not entirely like the example above- we just felt the need to cancel out 'holiday efforts'). Use common sense in your day-to-day lives. Tell anybody else who says otherwise to just STFU.

Europe's Champion Against Algore

Staropramen lagers. Skoda automobiles. Prague architechture. And now one more reason to love The Czech Republic... my new hero, President Václav Klaus!

PRAGUE – Czech President Vaclav Klaus said on Wednesday that fighting global warming has turned into a 'religion' that replaced the ideology of communism and threatens to clip basic freedoms.

The right-wing president, a free-market champion, wrote to the U.S. Congress that adopting tough environmental policies to fight climate change would have destructive impact on national economies.

'Communism has been replaced by the threat of an ambitious environmentalism,' Klaus wrote in response to questions from the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Algore's Last Environmentaljihadism Skit

After this, we can only hope that even the most stoned out environmentalists will wake up and catch onto Algore's perpetual bullshit agenda. Cigarette smoke is harming the Earth? Ruiiiiight.

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore warned hundreds of U.N. diplomats and staff on Thursday evening about the perils of climate change, claiming: Cigarette smoking is a "significant contributor to global warming!"

Gore, who was introduced by Secretary-General Kofi Annan, said the world faces a "full-scale climate emergency that threatens the future of civilization on earth."

Gore showed computer-generated projections of ocean water rushing in to submerge the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, parts of China, India and other nations, should ice shelves in Antarctica or Greenland melt and slip into the sea."

The planet itself will do nicely, thank you very much what is at risk is human civilization," Gore said. After a series of Q& A with the audience, which had little to do with global warming and more about his political future, Annan bid "adios" to Gore.

Then, Gore had his staff opened a stack of cardboard boxes to begin selling his new book, "An Inconvenient Truth, The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It," $19.95, to the U.N. diplomats.

Cooling Down The Climate Scare

Good article to read and follow-up with after the Richard Branson post recently.
The country is drowning in wild alarums warning of impending doom due to global warming. Yet there has risen -- from the U.S. Senate, of all places -- a lone voice of rational dissent.

While Al Gore drifts into deeper darkness on the other side of the moon, propelled by such revelations as cigarette smoking is a "significant contributor to global warming," Sen. James Inhofe is becoming a one-man myth-wrecking crew.

Inhofe, a Republican from Oklahoma, took to the Senate floor two days last week to expose the media's role in the global warming hype. This is a man who more than three years ago called the global warming scare "the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people" and has made a habit of tweaking the left-leaning environmental lobby.

Richard Branson To Squander Fortune Away

Perhaps not his entire fortune, but it might as well be. Giving in to what could be one of the world's most voluntarily expensive fiscal wastes, Sir Richard Branson of Virgin fame in the UK is set to donate $3B to combat 'global warming'. Just what do you spend that kind of money on to fight something unproven?

Well, from some talking points with Neil Cavuto on FNC 9/21, he hopes it will go to develop new fuels over the next 10 years. Yeah, good luck with that. When asked by Cavuto about what he thought about escalating 'global warming' when this hurricane season has been nill, his response was, "winds have cooled the ocean down, and therefore we haven't had a lot of hurricanes."

Since when does man create wind? Sounds like the work of Mother Nature's cycles to me. Durrrrrr!

ABC Wants Global Warming Sob Stories

"Witnessing the impact of global warming in your life?" a new ABCNews.com article asks. "ABC News wants to hear from you."

I think I'm going to submit a picture of the cracks in my truck's dashboard as evidence since it's been sitting in the sun for months. I mean, c'mon, the sun shouldn't be having that effect on the plastic in my vehicle. Cars from the 1910s didn't have this problem! That can only mean one thing... we've gotta stop this damaging effect the sun is having. And raise awareness!

Algore Needs To Listen To Radiohead

Perhaps not the music they sing, but the truth they speak...

Campaigning RADIOHEAD frontman THOM YORKE has confessed he is a hypocrite, because it's impossible for him to be a world-travelling rock star without damaging the environment. Yorke is a vocal ambassador for the charity Friends Of The Earth, but admits he isn't "flawless", since big concerts, tours and festivals rely on fossil fuel and create tons of unrecyclable waste.

He says, "I don't drive a big car, but I don't come out of it dirt-free. "The whole apparatus of big festivals is not cool. If we could go to them and say, you can only use paper cups, you can't use generators, you have to use solar panels. "You technically can't make it happen. That stresses me out, because I am a hypocrite. As we all are."

BP Hit With Criminal Probe Over US Oil Spill

I really hope that the hypocritical, environmentaljihadist-pandering energy company, BP, is performing an about-face on their absurd 'carbon footprint' television campaign right about now. With recent events, their slogan is now even more absurd than Buick's "beyond precision" tagline.

Ozone Hole Actually Shrinking

Cheers to a team of Japanese researchers for publically stating their findings that a big aspect of 'global warming' is on the decrease, the ozone hole over Antarctica.

LiveScience.com - Ozone Hole Might Heal by 2050

But I've got a couple questions here. This article states at the end that most of the harm is being caused by "emissions of chlorofluorocarbons and other gases" from mainly old air conditioning units and refrigerators in North America. Not only "why would only antiquated A/C units and fridges in Canada and the U.S. be holding up faster ozone hole shrinkage", but "why isn't the ozone hole over North America and other holes over other developed countries around the world?"

Furthermore, why haven't the Emperor Penguins fried to death yet?
