KRISTOL: Don't Wince. Fight! Dick Cheney, Most Valuable Republican

aux.link.: Don't Wince. Fight!

" "As Cheney Seizes Spotlight, Many Republicans Wince," was the front-page headline in Thursday's Washington Post. Two Republican "strategists" spoke "on the condition of anonymity in order to be candid." Profiles in courage! One of them opined that Cheney is "entirely unhelpful." The other elaborated, "Even if he's right, he's absolutely the wrong messenger.  .  .  .  We want Bush to be a distant memory in the next election."

To have such a juvenile understanding of political dynamics, you'd have to be a prominent "Republican strategist." You might actually have both the Dole and McCain campaigns under your belt. Or perhaps you were one of those who encouraged the Bush White House to assume a fetal position on most issues in its second term and not fight back against slanders or defend their people, because to do so would spotlight the "wrong" issues or people."

Buchanan Nails It: "The Pendulum Will Swing Back In 2010"

aux.link.: Wanted: A fighting party

Read this brief article and then ask yourself... is there any way the big, undoable stuff like Obamacare can be staved off for another year and a half while the GOP brings a majority back into the House and Senate to defeat it?

If yes, there is hope. If no, well, @#$&.

Bush Wants History To Show Him As A Liberator

aux.link.: Bush wants history to see him as a liberator of millions

"George W. Bush hopes history will see him as a president who liberated millions of Iraqis and Afghans, who worked towards peace and who never sold his soul for political ends.

"I'd like to be a president (known) as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace," Bush said in excerpts of a recent interview released by the White House Friday. "I would like to be a person remembered as a person who, first and foremost, did not sell his soul in order to accommodate the political process. I came to Washington with a set of values, and I'm leaving with the same set of values." "

SLAM DUNK: Sarah Palin YHPS-Approved

Damn. McCain has all but locked up the election now with this move- sheer brilliance. The conservative base is jumping, and I am finally stoked. I may even get a bumpersticker. One doesn't really comprehend the virtue in this selection fully until they read her background and see all the required tick-marks they can check off, and then watch the introductory speech she gave in Ohio last Friday which gave me goosebumps.

This 'Hail Mary pass', that some are referring to the pick as, looks to be one that will be catchable with many voters, and attractive enough for most to shut down the socialistic arrogance/mouthy ticket of Obama/Biden. The selection of right(eous)-babe Gov. Sarah Palin was just the thing to finally energize hesitant Republicans and swing voters, as well as a good chunk of change out of my and my wife's bank account to the McCain campaign this evening finally. She's just what they (and we) needed.

Hard Working, Married Republicans: "Life Is Good"

aux.link: Gallup: Most Americans “Very Satisfied” With Their Personal Lives

Indeed- 2007 was the best year of my life and this year looks to hit par for the course.
PRINCETON, NJ -- As Americans look ahead to the new year and reflect on the year past, a recent Gallup Poll finds the public generally content with their own lives. Most Americans say they are generally happy, with a slim majority saying they are "very happy." More than 8 in 10 Americans say they are satisfied with their personal lives at this time, including a solid majority who say they are "very satisfied." This personal satisfaction level contrasts sharply with the low level of satisfaction Americans express with the way things are going "in the United States at this time." Republicans, married adults, those residing in higher income households, parents of young children, those attending church weekly, and whites are most likely to say they are satisfied and happy at this time.

Bushes Plan Post White House Years In Dallas

Yes, I live in Dallas. And coincidentally, I did some growing up in Midland too where Dubya did the same. So I'm pretty stoked at the idea of the world's most powerful dude retiring in the same spot I live now as well. The upscale communities of Highland Park and Park Cities north of downtown are abuzz with rumors of where the couple will spend the next stage of their lives starting in 2009- these developments will be interesting to watch over the next several months.

Maybe I can get in on this 'Freedom Institute' in some role that he wants to start...

Rove On History And The Legacy Of 43

Today is Karl Rove's first day of well-deserved vacation after resigning from The White House. While it's sad to see the guy leave the public eye with such a commanding post, knowing him, he'll still be in the game behind the scenes helping to ensure the GOP wins in 2008.

It's only appropriate that he wrote the following article; the last note from his position is a timeless send-off of how this Administration will be written into the books of history that generations will know instead of the hateful bias today.

My President Can Kick Your President's Ass

Not only is it admirable to have a Commander In Chief as fit as he is at this age, but even cooler to see that he still goes balls-out down singletrack trails on his Trek mountain bike jamming out to his iPod. Too bad The White House grounds in D.C. cannot accomodate these needs as easily- this man needs it.

Cool article below.

Blake Gottesman Is The Man

Whoda thunk that the President's closest pointman isn't Karl Rove, but actually a 26 year old guy that formally dated his daughter? On a $96,000 salary, it's safe to say that I'm jealous of his job and acceptance into Harvard b-school. Cool article.

Good News Suppressed From White House

It's stuff like this that keeps your momentum of disgrace and hate going for the mainstream media. Snips...

"SAN FRANCISCO - When President Bush nominated Gen. Michael Hayden to run the CIA, the press focused on disapproving Democrats and even some Republicans who were dubious about confirmation.

A month later, when the Senate confirmed Hayden by a 78-15 vote, the story was given much less emphasis in the media, which had moved on to other stories critical of the Bush administration."

"In addition to success with his nominations, Bush also is presiding over a booming economy and is even scoring some foreign policy advances..."

"“We hear a great deal about the problems we face,” Bush aide Peter Wehner wrote in an op-ed published Monday by the Washington Post. “We hear hardly anything about encouraging developments."

"...negative press coverage have made Bush aides almost apologetic when they point out good news."

" “President Bush’s leadership is achieving a steady flow of results that do not always dominate the day’s headlines on their own but that together represent real progress for the American people,” Bartlett said."

Sin City TV Star Backs Bush

Kudos to the few Hollywood stars that come out in favor of common sense and conservative ideals. The Yuppie Horror Picture Show grants major props to Mickey Rourke and access to the short 'cool list' of folks from the left coast.

"MICKEY ROURKE has pledged his support for US President GEORGE W BUSH's controversial foreign policy in Iraq. The SIN CITY
actor, who is famed for being for being outspoken, has come forward as one of the few stars to support the war on terror. The former boxer says, "George is doing a hell of a job during very difficult times, more power to him. Screw all them people who don't like him." "

Sounds Good To Me

"White House sources said Snow, who started on the job Monday and has yet to give his first public press briefing, is determined to aggressively counter what the administration considers unfair assertions in both news and editorials about Bush. At the same time, he is eager to make the notoriously secretive administration more accessible to the press."

Go Snow!
